10/20/2010 -- RONA hosts a Townhall Meeting

What: Townhall Meeting to discuss School Funding Ballot Measures
When: Wednesday, October 20 from 7:00pm-8:00pm
Where: Lounge at the Elan apartment complex (map)

Roger Barnes of the Santa Clara Unified School District will speak and answer questions about the two school-funding ballot measures coming up on the November and March elections.

These school bonds will allow the city of San Jose to buy a portion of the Agnews property for a K-8 school, acquire funds to build that school, and shift most of the payoff burden for the Agnews purchase to future residential development in the North San Jose area. 10/1/2010 -- Target Store Opens

The new Target store in the @First complex at Hwy 237 and North First Street has opened.

9/30/2010 -- Sony/Irvine Update

Irvine is working on their first phase. This includes 364 condominium units and 11,600 sqft of commercial space. They have started demolition and preparing the site for construction. Their goal is to be coming out of the ground this spring. More info on the Sony/Irvine project page here.

1/30/2010 -- Walmart Expansion Plans

Walmart has applied to the city of Milpitas planning council to convert 14,000 sqft and to expand its store by roughly 19,000 sqft to provide a 24 hour-a-day grocery department.
